We booked our tickets to Hawaii way back in December 2021. But unfortunately the airlines didn’t get booked enough and so they cancelled our tickets and gave us rewards. We booked again this year during Tvisha’s spring break!
We started on Monday April 3rd, booked a cab to the airport, and flew in, on a 6 hour flight to Maui, Hawaii. We reached in the evening. Walked to the rental car, so exhausted, waited an hour in line to get a car, and then I was so hangry- we stopped by a drive through for dinner, tvisha slept in the car, and we all finally crashed to our vacation cabin/ apartment.
There’s a 3 hour time difference from sfo to Hawaii! We gained more time! Just 3 hours difference and it took me a couple of days to know to eat early enough before hitting a headache.
Anyways the next day, we drove out for breakfast- turns out it’s a walkable distance- the beach, a general store, 2 breakfast spots- with long queues in the morning! And lots of little shops.
We had breakfast at the cinnamon roll store- they had bagel sandwiches of all sorts and some pastries. Ofcourse coffee and stuff.
And then we went around for a little drive- and stopped by a beach… enjoyed there for a while. The water so warm, and the sand so soft, and the beach almost to ourselves. Such beautiful clear skies, lovely waves and a beautiful postcard like view!
Back home from that heat, relaxed for a bit, b made pappu, we ate lunch at home, b took t to the swimming pool for an hour, then got ready and stepped out again… drove around- looked for coconut, found some shops, then stopped by Safeway.. picked up some quick bites. Came back home again. And later walked out for dinner- Thai place. And guess what- the drinking water was so refreshing… ofcourse the food was yum as well. Then stopped by the beach close to home for the sunset views. Got some pretty good clicks although with the clouds were in the way!
Wednesday- we tried the other spot for breakfast- this place had waffles, aรงaรญ bowls, smoothies and stuff! Back home- got ready and started out to drive the north part of the island - stopped by a couple of view points, then banyan tree courtplace- it was hard to find parking there. B just roamed around in the car as we went around to see the tree, the water front and few shops around, then drove to Makaluapuna point - it was a little walk down, amazing views, super windy and we clicked away some pictures! Then back to the car- all tired- there was a little shop around - again picked up some things to munch and just drove to complete the circle kinda.. and got back home!
Thursday- b went for his morning coffee and back, then I went to bring breakfast and while T was watching tv! Then I was dropped for Snorkeling, and later picked up, a chill day after that! Relaxed!
Friday- yup walked out for breakfast, back got ready and drove to Red Hill, and the observatory.
Saturday- breakfast, home, chilled, later went out for lunch, and then to a mall for Easter event- I looked up on Facebook for it.
Sunday - Road to Hana - visited an arboretum, then Waianapanapa black sand beach (need to reserve ahead), and some viewpoints and waterfalls on the way. Black sand beach was the best.
And Monday end of the week long trip. Flew back home! A nice relaxing break!
